Life may be LIKE a bowl of cherries (according to some dimwit), but for me, LUNCH *was* a bowl of cherries! At least today it was. Yes, that's right: I had a bowl o' cherries for lunch today. Regular red (bing, perhaps?) and another variety called Ranier. To add a dash of dramatic flair, I ate them out of a black bowl. They were tasty, but I would just rate lunch as "OK" today because it was way too hot/humid outside, so that taints EVERY experience.

Lunch is so stressful. You have to decide whether or not you will spend $ for lunch or eat the semi-disgusting protein bar you brought from home... then the decision is whether or not to drive somewhere (in which case money will be spent on gas at some point), where to go, what to eat, whether it will be healthy or not... and then if it is not healthy, you feel guilty for the next two days. Plus, you must consider lunch time constraints - how far can I drive in half an hour? Where can I go? Will I get food poisoning from a salad at a fast-food place? SO stressful. I could always just sit at my desk and cry instead!

The holiday is over, Spain and France a distant memory. Even more distant as I finish my chicken salad sandwich as I muse over whether I have autism as it's all I seem to eat at my desk. Lunch is great in France, they toss work off and eat lunch for hours. Then they think about working for a bit and then go and have their dinner. No wonder they have a cr@p economy.
